Permanent Residency in Canada

Seeking a new start for yourself or your family? Looking to reunite permanently in Canada with a loved one who lives in another country? Economic immigration or family sponsorship may be a good fit.

Canada offers a high quality of life, a stable economy, and a welcoming, diverse society, which celebrates multiculturalism. New immigrants play a vital role in shaping the country, and contributing to a more robust Canadian economy.

Express Entry

One of the most popular ways to immigrate to Canada and become a permanent resident is through the Express Entry system, which manages skilled worker immigration applications.

Qualified candidates are allocated points, called a Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS), and are ranked amongst the other eligible candidates in the pool. Draws are held periodically, offering those in the pool with the highest CRS an Invitation to Apply for permanent residency.

Programs within the Express Entry System:

  • Canadian Experience Class: for skilled workers with eligible Canadian work experience.

  • Federal Skilled Worker program: for skilled workers with eligible foreign or Canadian work experience.

  • Federal Skilled Trades Program: for skilled workers who are qualified in a skilled trade.

How we can help:

  • Complete a comprehensive eligibility assessment and calculate your potential CRS score.

  • Review options to improve your score, if needed.

  • Create and maintain your Express Entry profile. There is no deadline to enter the pool, and profiles remain valid in the pool for up to a year. There is no cap on how many applicants can be in the pool.

  • Guide you through the permanent residence application, once invited.

  • Handle all document and application preparation and verification.

  • Manage communication with IRCC on your behalf, from start to finish.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)

The PNP allow the Canadian provinces and territories who participate to craft their own “streams” (or immigration programs that target certain groups), with their own requirements. These streams allow the provinces/territories to nominate applicants, in order to meet the specific employment and business needs in that region. Applicants can be in-demand skilled workers, semi-skilled workers, students, and business people.

The PNP is a great fit for an applicant who:

  • has the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the economy of the specific province or territory,

  • wants to live in that province or territory, and

  • wants to become a permanent resident of Canada.

We are happy to assist qualified individuals who are interested in participating in the British Columbia (BC) PNP.

Two ways to participate in the BC PNP:

  • Via Express Entry

    • Step 1: Check eligibility for the BCPNP and one of the three programs managed by Express Entry.

    • Step 2: Apply for a nomination via the BCPNP.

    • Step 3: Once you have been nominated, you will receive an additional 600 CRS points on your Express Entry profile.

    • Step 4: Apply for Permanent Residence via Express Entry once you have received an Invitation to Apply.

  • Non-Express Entry Process

    • Step 1: Check eligibility for the BCPNP.

    • Step 2: Apply for a nomination via the BCPNP.

    • Step 3: Apply for Permanent Residence online.

Family Sponsorship

Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents (PR) are eligible to sponsor certain family members to become permanent residents, so they can live, study and work in Canada.

To qualify as a sponsor, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, and be at least 18 years old;

    • Canadian citizens living outside Canada are also eligible, but must provide evidence of planning to live in Canada when their family member becomes a PR.

  • Be able to prove that you are not receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability; and

  • be able to provide for the basic needs of any person(s) you want to sponsor, and promise to financially take care of the person(s) you want to sponsor for a period of time.

There are no income requirements to sponsor a spouse, common-law partner, or dependent child. Other relationships may have income requirements for the sponsor.

Who you can sponsor:

  • A spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner;

  • Dependent children who are:

    • under 22 years old and do not have a spouse or common-law partner, or

    • 22 or older, and financially depend on their parents since before age 22, and are unable to financially support themselves due to a mental or physical condition.

  • An adopted child;

  • Your parents or grandparents;

  • An orphaned brother, sister, nephew, niece or grandchild - with specific requirements; or

  • Another relative of any age, provided you:

    • are related to them by blood or adoption,

    • have no other living relative you could sponsor instead, and

    • don’t have any relatives who are Canadian citizens or PR.
